  we are picking up a car from inter rent which we booked through auto Europe. They have a ticketing system and the queue is hours long everyone is sitting or standing glumly. The staff are rude the boss refuses to help he's just sitting there. One worker has just left even though people have been waiting hours. We called auto Europe to cancel our booking as we don't want to wait 3 plus hours in the airport. Auto Europe who we have a contract with have refused to cancel it even though the law states it is what is reasonable and waiting 3 hours plus is not reasaobable when they do not have enough staff. We called auto Europe who promised to call back so far no luck. Auto Europe you should not use inter rent as a supplier the boss clearly does not want to do his job and the company is a shambles.   Oh dear. Have used these people a lot over the years but they seem to have gone seriously downhill. Firstly, the serving time is poor - it was a quiet time and still took 30 minutes to get the car, the mind boggles what it must be like in summer on a busy day. Then the car booked (Group C Astra sized) isn't available so they land me with a Dacia Lodgy people carrier. They then insist on a €6 cleaning charge which if not paid in advance will be €25. This isn't for excessive cleaning - the explanation is that unless the car is returned ready to immediately rent out again there will be a charge. I have never come across this in any airport or any car hire place in the world including 25 years renting in Ibiza. The car turns out to be a base spec one with dents on every single panel, nearly 40k on the clock, front tyres on 2mm and smearing wiper blades. At least it started, which wasn't the case with the customer in front of me in the queue and their allocated heap. Drive off, half an hour in, notice the "full to full" rental only had half a tank of fuel. Take photo. Next day have to go back to airport to collect someone so go to desk, have endless explanation and they eventually alter and sign the agreement to half full. Car does OK but too big for Ibiza. Upon return of the car it checks in OK and then the next day I notice a €74 charge on my card. No idea what for. They don't seem to know either - still awaiting reply from customer services. Be careful with this company. They seem to use parent company Europcar cast offs, don't prep the cars, don't fill the cars, have unheard of charges and poor customer services. I'll give them one star as the staff were polite, looked hassled and over worked but seemed to try.

  Absolutely horrendous !!!!! please do yourself a favour and get car hire from somewhere else. The queues were unbelievable and took 2 hours to get car. Also for 8 hours I hired the car costing 8 euros in fuel I got charged 37 euros taxes. They have not credited back my fuel of 74 euros that they charged for a full tank and I took it back with a full tank but also the deposit of 250. Trust me I will never be using this company again

  the real suprise was an additional fee of 70 Euro (for the rental, so not agreed or advised in any way) 3 days after I returned the car which they just substracted from my credit card without my allowance (as I said, paid everything in advance..),

  I was charged an unfair fee for returning a "dirty" car. I could have easily stopped at the car wash before dropping off my car had I known about this absurd policy. I'll never be using this company again.
